8.2. Very impressed, I have to say. The food was served quickly on a massive plate and was very hot. I was presented with a steak knife which was a delight and made light work of cutting through the beef. Also - the Hyde Park had, in my opinion, the best ROAST POTATOES we have experienced so far in this project. There was a noticable lack of gravy, but that was the only real drawback. Pleasant atmposphere. Comfortable seating. Banging.Michael Blades
Score 7.5 - Surprising result from the Hyde Park pub, pulling a corker out of the bag (or more specifically out from a store in the gents lav, or where their kitchen is). Roast chicken this week, a whole half a chicken. Great choice by me and well cooked by them. All the pieces were there: leg, breast, thigh, wing. Plenty to tuck into. For once the peas were in proportion, I finished every last one. Accompanied by crunchy cauliflower and carrots, it was an appetising array of vegetables. The roast potatoes may have been a bit overdone for my liking and the yorkshire not the size of a pillow, but that's just being pedantic. The inclusion of a pint with the meal was a welcome gesture and the multiple screens and ample seating made the afternoon a pleasant experience. The top end of good, boarding on great. Matt Small
On the whole a really good roast dinner. The beef was cooked well and the portions were very generous. The Yorkshire puddings were perfect. This dinner was lined up for a good mark if it didn't come with dirty cutlery that I had to scrap with my nail. 6.5 Chris Hodgson
7.5/10. The food was good, roast potatoes were up there with the best we have had. Yorkshire puds were excellent, soft but crispy. Meat was OK but not amazing and gravy amount was perfect. The ambiance was good, a tad quiet after the rugby though which I thought wouldn't have been the case given the nice weather. Slightly dirty cutlery is a major downside here! This is better than most but there is something lacking and I can't quite put my finger on it! Very enjoyable though. X-factor contestant: Paije Richardson. James Gardner
