Score: 8.5. By far the most difficult to score, owing to a palatial meal set in Ikea surroundings. Group opinion swung like a pendulum. Food vs Atmosphere, and the very essence of whether or not this is a "pub roast dinner experience".

Without doubt amongst the best food on the run. PORK, i mean it hadn't even been mentioned til this point. Roast pork, crackling, parsnips, onion gravy, potatoes, yorkshires and an array of sauces. Nigh on faultless, as expressed in the silence that descended as everyone tucked in.

But love is blind, and after the honeymoon period, one experiences the true nature of marriage. The cost, at £6 was almost double everywhere else, no inclusion of a pint, no tv entertainment, at the end of the day it was the union, it wasn't a pub, a restaurant masquerading as a bar. No wonder the food was so different, it's not on par with the others.

We could go petty and talk about the table reconfiguration (+ve) or the service (+ve), or the draft (-ve) or the decor (-ve), but at the heart of it is, it's not what this task was about. It's not a pub, it's not like the others. That may be alright for some, but not for me. It didn't entice me to buy more (mainly because of the price), or feel comfortable enough to stay all evening. Good work on the food, but any restaurant can beat a pub kitchen.

Well, what to say here. Absolutely blew me away. The food was BY FAR AND AWAY the best we've had. It was more expensive also at £6 a go, but the options of meat included beef and PORK! No other pub on the route has offered Pork. AND WITH CRACKLING. The crackling was cracking. My favourite roast dinner component is the parsnip and the Terrace provided these in generous portions. Onion gravy. Crunchy, well cooked vegetables. If you're looking for reasonably priced good food I simply can't fault it.

However... it's not just about the food. It is the experience as a whole that we are scoring here. At the Terrace we were sat on the lower deck due to lack of seating... and despite the Terrace only being recently refurbed we were sat against massive plain white, brick walls and sat in a draught. These are not things that ordinarily I would care about but you don't have this in a pub. Unless you manage to bag yourself one of the few booths in the venue then the Terrace does lack comfort. It's this where is loses points on what would otherwise be 10/10. I think 9.5 is fair. Great performance though - loved it.

9.2/10 - An incredible performance from the union bar. At £6 it was expected that we would get a roast of a different class to the rest and it delivered. The food itself was by far the best we have had. It was more like a restaurant meal, the gravy had flavourings, the Yorkshires were home made and very good, an onion sauce went really well and was delicious! However, there has to be points lost for the fact that it didn't have a pub atmosphere and it wasn't as comfortable as chilling out in a pub. X-factor contestant: Rebecca Ferguson.

Very very good roast dinner... Very upper class (which is good as i am also a very upper class indiviual). Loved the roast potatoes (best yet) and the fact we got a choice of sauces.... I very much enjoyed the weird kind of sour cream sauce we were given! Parsnips and veg were great.... and all this for not a completely unreasonable price. However its main donwfall was its complete lack of ambience (see i am so upper class!) I like to have my roast dinner in a cosy country pub with lots of atmosphere... on this front the Terrace failed massivley. Therefore its a 7.75/10
